Attempting some portrait studies! I wanted to spend some time working on subjects I don't normally do, so why not start with portraits. This is a likeness study of Tilda Swinton that I've slowly chipped away at. Every time I look at it I come up with something to change, but I still have a tendency to overwork things at this stage so I'm moving onto the next one to continue exploring and growing.
I wanted to focus on creating a new color palette instead of trying to recreate the photo exactly. It was a lot of fun "mixing" color digitally and exploring hues I don't normally work in. I also attempted to resist the urge to over render, and focus on capturing the mood without needing to hit every detail. The goal here was not photo realism, but expression.
